Dungeness Lifeboat News Release - 3 October 2011

Dungeness RNLI lifeboat launches to inflatable canoe after a member of the public raised concerns.
On Sunday 2 October at 13.45 hours, the Dungeness RNLI lifeboat was launched to access the situation of a 12’ inflatable canoe, 2.5 miles from Dungeness with two persons on board after concerns from a member of the public.
The RNLI lifeboat escorted the inflatable into safer waters enabling it to be more visible from the shore. Roger Gillett, the RNLI sea safety officer at Dungeness lifeboat station said:- when using an inflatable craft it is essential to observe weather and local tidal conditions, to carry safety equipment and means of communication.
