A Booklet Written And Produced By Jeff Morris
The windswept promontory known as Dungeness, on the south coast of Kent, consists, mainly of shingle, as a result of which, the foreshore is constantly changing. The first lighthouse was bult near the point in 1615, the latest in 1961. There has been a Lifeboat Station at "Dungeness" since 1826, but, over the years, as a result of the ever changing coastline, some 12 different sites have been used for this Station, the present one only dating from 1977.
If you would like to download The History Of The Dungeness Lifeboats by Jeff Morris, please donate online to the Dungeness RNLI Lifeboat Station Fund. We suggest a minimum donation of £2.50 but any amount would be greatly appreciated. This donation is voluntary and you can download the book before deciding on the amount you would like to donate.
