Bruce Kirk: From the skipper and crew of MV Just Yum Yum . . . .
This is an enormous thank you to the crew of the Dungeness lifeboat who came to our assistance on Sunday 1st August as we were struggling with our anchor jammed under the keel and beginning to take on water - in conditions far worse than forecast.
The crew were tremendous, totally in control of the situation and very professional. They kept us in good spirits and escorted us in to Dover, even arranging for the boat lift to be ready on our arrival.
We are extremely grateful to the RNLI and would like to thank all the crew and support staff at Dungeness - especially crew members Garry and Hugh who came aboard as we were escorted back to Dover, keeping an eye on the incoming sea water and ensuring we got safely in to port.
Thank you

Guest: Memories
I first visited the station in 1959 with my parents whilst on holiday and have visited frequently since. My father worked all his life on the Thames and ultimately died in the same river, he supported the RNLI and I have carried on in his memory. He was Herbert Ford of Gravesend and I,m his eldest daughter Lesley.

Chris Hedges: Lifeboat
My husband, my daughter and myself visited the lifeboat again today. This is our third visit and again it was wonderful to see the boat and the area.
The work of the RNLI is invaluable and I think underestimated by many people who don't quite understand what energy and commitment goes into the organisation.
The history of the lifeboat station, the boats and the crew is fascinating.
We'll be back again soson, no doubt!
Thank you.
