Dungeness RNLI lifeboat responds to fishing vessel broken down 10 miles south of Dungeness

In the afternoon of Monday 26 January, 2009 French coastguards alerted Dover coastguards of a Rye fishing vessel with engine problems stranded 10 miles south of Dungeness. The Dungeness RNLI lifeboat launched and once on scene found casualty had managed to repair the engine. The fishing vessel proceeded safely back to Rye Harbour. Dungeness RNLI lifeboat returned to station.
