Dungeness RNLI lifeboat assists 40' ketch to re-float two miles west of Dungeness

In the early hours of Saturday morning 22 August, 2009 a 40' ketch on passage from Plymouth to Holland with two persons on board un-expectantly went ashore two miles west of Dungeness Point onto the beach.

The Dungeness RNLI lifeboat launched to assist casualty to re-float. Coxswain Stuart Adams put two of his crew aboard the stricken vessel to attach tow rope and successfully re-floated the casualty to continue on its passage to Holland.
