News Release - 20 June 2007

Dungeness RNLI lifeboat called to broken down yacht.

On Wednesday 20th June 2007 at 8.00 am in the morning the 10 metre Yacht 'Lunan' requested help from the Dungeness RNLI lifeboat 5 miles northeast from Dungeness point due to engine failure and with the two sailors on board suffering severe sea sickness.
Two of the lifeboat's first aiders were put aboard the stricken vessel to assess the situation. Coxswain Stuart Adams decided to tow the casualty straight to Dover Harbour. Coxswain Adams said 'the lady sailor on the yacht was really ill and felt much better and relieved once she had her feet on dry land'
