35' ketch calls RNLI lifeboats for help in rough sea conditions.
On Sunday 6 May, 2007 in the afternoon, three RNLI lifeboats from Dungeness, Littlestone and Rye were called to a 35' ketch on route from Weymouth to Faversham whose sails had blown out, engine had failed and the persons aboard were suffering from sea sickness. The RNLI lifeboats stood by as crew were put aboard the stricken vessel and a child was transferred to the Littlestone RNLI lifeboat suffering from severe sea sickness and taken ashore to Littlestone while crew members from the Dungeness RNLI lifeboat repaired the inboard engine. The Dungeness RNLI lifeboat towed the casualty to Dover. Coxswain Stuart Adams said 'It was a team effort from all three RNLI lifeboats and we were pleased to be able to assist in such difficult weather conditions'
