Dungeness RNLI lifeboat launches to
missing windsurfer in storm force winds

On Thursday 8 December at 15.55 hours in gale force winds, gusting to force 10 with heavy rain and very rough seas the RNLI lifeboat was requested to launch to a missing windsurfer off Rye. Whilst on passage to the scene the lifeboat was recalled to station after coastguards received a 999 call from the missing windsurfer stating he was on land and safe.
