Memorial Standard in memory of the late William Richardson is presented to the Dungeness RNLI lifeboat station
On Sunday 11 September at the annual lifeboat blessing held at the Dungeness RNLI lifeboat station the sons of the late William Richardson who died in November 2010 presented a memorial standard to the chairman of the management committee Peter Thomas who accepted the gift on behalf of the lifeboat station. Mark and Stuart Richardson were proud that the hand-embroidered standard would be a lasting tribute to a man that had served in the RNLI as a crew member, coxswain and chairman of the management committee for the past forty five years. Willie’s widow said ‘ the standard is a symbolic reminder of a person’s commitment to the RNLI, whose heart was always focused on helping others and especially saving lives as sea’
